hi, i'm keith kurson (@keithlaugh.love). i built pollen and i believe your data belongs to you. here's how i handle it:
🚫 no tracking
i don't use any analytics, trackers, or third-party scripts. no cookies for tracking. no fingerprinting. nothing.
🗄️ temporary cache only
the database is just a cache to make feeds load fast. it's completely cleared every 24 hours. i don't store your data long-term — your Atmosphere account does that.
📦 your data lives on your account
everything you create — posts, follows, likes — lives on your Atmosphere account, not on pollen. you own it, you control it, you can take it anywhere.

for the extra nerdy: you can self-host your own account server at selfhosted.social.
🔐 authentication
pollen uses ATProto OAuth to authenticate you. i never see or store your password. your session is stored in a secure, HTTP-only cookie that only identifies you to the server.
